SPONSOR A NUN PROGRAM

Sponsorship is $25 a month or $300 a year per person for food, shelter, health care and education. Your sponsorship is set up as a recurring gift at the level of support indicated. You may end the payments at any time in the future should you decide to stop sponsorship.

Yeshi Tsomo
Born: 1993
Place of Birth: Diru
She belongs to a poor farmer family. She studied in nunneries for three years in Tibet. Due to repression on nunneries in her hometown, she escaped into India. She joined Geden Choeling to continue her buddhist studies.

Tenzin
Born: 1996
Place of Birth: Dingri
She was born to a farmer’s family in the western part of Tibet. She spent her village doing house chores before she escaped to India and joined a school. She studied there for 2 years before joining the Geden Choeling nunnery.

Norkyi Dolma
Born: 1991
Place of Birth: Theu Dzong
She went to primary school for two years and later studied in a local nunnery for ten years. She escaped into India and studies in transit school where she studies for two years. She had later joined the Geden Choeling nunnery to continue her buddhist studies.

Tenzin Choekyi
Born: 1995
Place of Birth: Diru
Her family is both a farmer and a nomad. She spent her time at her village helping her parents in the filed and the pastures. After escaping into India she studied at the transit school for a while before joining the Geden Choeling to study buddhism.

Gyaltsen Choekyi
Born: 1996
Place of Birth: Nagchu
She belongs to a nomad family. She attended till grade 12 when she was in Tibet. Later, she joined a nunnery and studied there for 3 months. But she was expelled from the nunnery by the Chinese and therefore she had to escape to India.

Kalsang Lhamo
Born: 1997
Place of Birth: Dingri
She belongs to a peasant family in western Tibet. She helped her parents in their fields and household chores during her  childhood. She later escaped to India and joined a school and studied for a year. Later she joined the Geden Choeling nunnery.

Gyaltsen Dolma
Born: 1994
Place of Birth: Nagchu
She belongs to nomadic family. She studies at a local nunnery for six years before escaping to exile into India. In India, she studies at a transit school for six months and later joined the Geden Choeling to study buddhist philosophy.

Sherap Dolma
Born: 1998
Place of Birth: Yazi Dzong
She was at Yazi province of North east, part of Tibet. Her family was nomad. She did not receive any formal education at home. She escaped from Tibet and joined Geden Choeling to study buddhist philosophy.

Please note that from September 2015 onward, The Tibet Fund will charge a $5 fee for each quarterly sponsorship payment to partially cover the cost associated with credit card fees, wire transfers to India, and other processing fees.
