Pema has severe Autism. She has suffered from a history of seizures and is now speech impaired with profound learning difficulties. Pema loves music and prefers being in the company of friends.

Tsering is a member of a farming family that depends solely upon field production for income. Tsering suffered from a traumatic fall which left him with a broken leg, nose and severely injured his left eye. He has been diagnosed with cystic fibrous dysplasia and suffers from asthma. At present, Tsering is attending local Tibetan school during the day and Ngoenga School arranges transportation.
