The COVID-19 continued to profoundly affect Tibetan refugee communities in India and Nepal in the first half of 2021. In the midst of the second deadly wave, The Tibet Fund was in the forefront providing essential medical devices and preventive supplies to majority of dismally equipped Tibetan healthcare centers. Now, they are modestly equipped to provide urgent care to those in need.
During these pandemic times, we have reached out to all Tibetan communities in exile and funded over $1,850,000 to combat Covid-19. This included non-medical livelihood support of $630,000 benefiting over 4,900 vulnerable Tibetan households through subsistence relief and livelihood skills training. We helped procure essential medical devices and supplies, including ventilators, oxygen cylinders and masks, heart monitor machines, nebulizer machines and PPE for treatment and prevention of Covid-19. We are happy to inform that 91% of Tibetans in India have received one or two doses. These would not have been possible without your support and generosity.
We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to all of you for supporting the work of The Tibet Fund and standing with us in solidarity as we continue our mission to help the needy Tibetan people.
Your donation of any amount is highly appreciated.
