The Tibet Fund is recruiting a Development Officer to work with a team of professionals to implement the organization’s fundraising strategy. Founded in 1981, The Tibet Fund is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Tibetan communities in exile and Tibet.
This position will be based in New York.
POSITION TITLE
Development Officer
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Main responsibilities will be as follows:
Conduct prospects research and analysis to identify potential new donors
Draft concept notes and proposal content, assist with submission and follow up
Analyze donor giving trends and assist with continuous donor relationship building
Assist with fundraising event planning and coordination
Work with communications team to produce fundraising related content for the website, social media, online appeals, annual report, and newsletters.
 
COMPENSATION
The Tibet Fund offers a competitive compensation package including full health insurance and 403(b) retirement benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Master’s degree
– 5+ years prior nonprofit experience with both fundraising and project experience
– Experience writing proposals, donor reports, and publicity materials
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team and work independently when needed
– Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and communication skills
– Results-oriented self-starter with ability to learn quickly and take initiative
– Strong English writing skills and Tibetan language proficiency
– Excel proficiency and ability to learn fundraising software programs
