NGOENGA SCHOOL FOR TIBETAN CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

The Ngoenga School, one of the first schools for disabled Tibetan children, was established near Dehradun, India in 2000 at the urging of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.  “Ngoenga” meaning extremely happy or joyous. The children are being provided free boarding, education and health care services. The school is under the administration of Central Tibetan Administrative, Department of Health (DoH) which does not have a stable source of funds to meet the expenses of the school. The DoH is, therefore, compelled to solicit sponsorship for the support of the students in the coming years.
