The Tibetan Arts Council is an open and inclusive global network of Tibetan and Tibetan-origin artists, collectives, and supporters. It serves as a shared platform and resource to support artists' creative development, amplify their work, and foster creative collaboration and cultural exchange.

འཆར་སྣང་།

འཛམ་གླིང་གང་སར་གནས་པའི་བོད་མི་དང་བོད་རིགས་སྒྱུ་རྩལ་བའི་མཐུན་ཚོགས་བརྒྱུད། བོད་ཀྱི་སྒྱུ་རྩལ་དང་རིག་གནས་ལ་དོན་སྙིང་ལྡན་པའི་གསོན་ཤུགས་བསྐྲུན་ནས་བོད་མིའི་སྤྱི་ཚོགས་དང་འགྲོ་བ་མི་སྤྱི་ལ་ཕན་པ་བསྒྲུབ་རྒྱུ།

Background

Since 2019, The Tibet Fund has supported individual artist projects, exhibitions, and artist groups such as Drung Tibetan Filmmakers Collective, TibetWrites, Khadhok Tibetan Artists Collective, Tibet Theatre, and TSAMPA under our Contemporary Arts Program. This program is grounded in the belief that contemporary art is a vital vehicle for cultural identity, language, and cohesion for Tibetans worldwide, especially youth, and will be increasingly critical for future generations.

In November, 2024, The Tibet Fund co-organized and funded the first Tibetan Artists Festival in Dharamsala, bringing together dozens of writers, musicians, painters and performing artists from across the globe. To better understand the needs and aspirations of the artist community, workshops and focus groups were held at which all participants endorsed forming a Tibetan Arts Council, to be incubated and supported by The Tibet Fund until it can sustain itself. A Steering Committee and International Advisory Board were established, and the Council invites Tibetan and Tibetan-origin artists around the globe to join its mailing list for announcements and updates about opportunities for funding, mentorship, collaboration, networking, and more.
