The Tibet Fund (TTF) is pleased to announce the 2024 Tibetan Girls Scholarship Program (TGSP) for Tibetan girls with limited resources. TTF anticipates supporting 10-15 new girls in 2024. Eligible applicants must have completed Grade 12 in either 2023 or 2024 and demonstrate a lack of alternative financial resources to pursue higher education. Scholarship amounts will be awarded based on actual tuition fees of individual courses, up to INR 60,000 per annum for professional studies and up to INR 40,000 per annum for technical skills programs, degree programs, and diploma programs. Annual allowances of up to INR 75,000 will also be provided for basic food and hostel/accommodation expenses. However, if these expenses are covered within the educational institution’s tuition, only nominal pocket money allowances will be offered. Scholarships will be renewed annually  based on ongoing financial need and satisfactory academic progress. Selected candidates must sign an agreement with TTF to ensure the effectiveness of this scholarship program.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The Applicant must have completed Grade 12 from a Tibetan school in India, Nepal or Bhutan in either 2023 or 2024. She must be starting the first year of her higher education degree.

2. The applicant must have an updated Green Book.

3. The applicant must not be receiving any other scholarship to pursue higher education.

4. The applicant must submit a complete TGSP application package by 5 PM IST on June 30, 2024, which includes:

      • Two Recommendation Forms

      • Grade 10 and 12 mark sheets

      • Updated Green Book copy

Important Note regarding the two recommendations:

1. The first recommender must be either:

A teacher who has taught the applicant for at least a year, OR a school head (Headmaster/Principal) from any school the applicant has attended.

2. The second recommender must be either:

A hostel in-charge (warden/foster parent) of the applicant’s hostel/home where she has resided for at least one year, OR a settlement officer/camp leader from the applicant’s home settlement.
