Scholarship Programs
The Tibetan Girls Scholarship Program was established in 2018 to ensure all Tibetan girls from low-income families have the opportunity to attend college. Scholarships are awarded solely based on financial need and cover the full cost of tuition and living expenses. Current recipients are studying nursing, fine arts, journalism, Tibetan medicine, social work, and other subjects in India, Nepal, and China.  Please click here  to read beneficiary impact stories.
The Tibetan Professional Scholarship Program was established in 2009 for college graduates to pursue professional master’s degrees in India and Nepal. Merit-based awards enable students to afford the cost of attending master’s programs at leading universities that would otherwise be prohibitively expensive. Current recipients are studying information technology, journalism, and business administration, among other subjects.
The Tibet Fund has been administering the Tibetan Scholarship Program since 1988. This program has brought more than 480 Tibetans to study in the United States, including at top schools like Harvard, Columbia, and U.C. Berkeley. Current recipients are studying cyber security, science education, public health, journalism, gender studies, and international law, among other subjects.
We also support the CTA Department of Education’s Scholarship Program in India. Hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students receive partial scholarships each year, and pre-med students receive support to prepare for medical school exams at reputed coaching centers.
