The Tibet Fund is pleased to announce the 2026 Tibetan Girls Scholarship Program (TGSP), designed to support Tibetan girls with limited financial resources in pursuing higher education. Eligible candidates must have completed Grade 12 and demonstrate a clear financial need that prevents them from pursuing higher education. Scholarship amounts will be awarded based on actual tuition fees of courses – up to INR 1,00,000 per annum for professional courses and up to INR 60,000 per annum for degree programs. The scholarship covers additional expenses including meal and hostel/accommodation costs. If an educational institution is charging these expenses along with the tuition fees, a nominal pocket money will be provided. Scholarships will be eligible for renewal each year based on continuing financial need and satisfactory academic performance. Selected candidates will be required to enter into a formal agreement with The Tibet Fund to ensure the program’s effectiveness and accountability.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants must have completed Grade 12 from a Tibetan school in India, Nepal, or Bhutan and must be entering the first year of their higher education degree. Students do not need to be recent school graduates.

2. The applicant must have an updated Green Book.

3. The applicant must not be receiving any other scholarship to pursue higher education.

4. The applicant must submit a complete TGSP application package by 5 PM IST on June 10, 2026, which includes:

      • Two Recommendation Forms

      • Grade 10 and 12 mark sheets

      • Updated Green Book copy

Important Note regarding the two recommendations:

1. The first recommender must be either:

A teacher who has taught the applicant for at least a year, OR a school head (Headmaster/Principal) from any school the applicant has attended.

2. The second recommender must be either:

A hostel in-charge (warden/foster parent) of the applicant’s hostel/home where she has resided for at least one year, OR a settlement officer/camp leader from the applicant’s home settlement.
