VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING
The Tibet Fund helps Tibetan youth build meaningful careers by expanding access to high-quality vocational and digital skills training across India and Nepal. Through partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations, young people gain practical, job-ready skills that open pathways to employment and self-reliance.
At the Digital Education Center at the Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Education, students receive hands-on training in industry-relevant fields such as cloud computing, full-stack development, and graphic design, along with soft-skills coaching and job placement support.
We also partner with Lha Charitable Trust to offer livelihood training for youth who have not completed formal schooling. Courses in baking, barista skills, cooking, woodcarving, nail art, and other trades are complemented by financial literacy and basic business education.
Working with the CTA Department of Home and local institutes in India and Nepal, we support youth to pursue vocational training in areas of their choice, including food production, hairdressing, electronics repair, photography, cosmetology, tattoo art, secretarial skills, tailoring, cinematography, thangka painting, and spa therapy. Many trainings are paired with employability coaching, internships, and exposure to industry professionals.
