Yongling Creche & Kinder Garten was founded in Mcleod Ganj in 1984 with the purpose of assisting working parents and fulfilling the educational obligations of the exiled Tibetan government towards Tibetan children. The kindergarten is dedicated to establishing a nurturing environment that encourages parents to prioritize their children’s education from an early age. Currently, the school caters to approximately 50 children enrolled in kindergarten and 34 in their creche program. Additionally, the school offers hostel accommodations for certain students, ensuring a supportive learning environment for all.

Name: Tashi Dawa
Tashi is currently 16 years old and attends grade XI at Upper TCV School. Following his parents’ divorce, he resides with his mother, who is responsible for caring for both him and his sibling. In addition to raising her two children, she also tends to the needs of their grandmother, shouldering multiple responsibilities within the family.
Name: Tenzin Chimey
Tenzin was born on December 7, 2018. He is studying stage III at Dhondonling Day School in Clement Town, Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father has been admitted to the Tibetan Rehab Centre for the last three years due to alcohol addiction. His mother arrived from Tibet in 2009, and her only source of income from housekeeping was insufficient to cover the family’s daily expenses. The school has identified his family as genuinely needy, as they cannot afford his educational fees.
Name: Tenzin Chime
Tenzin is 2 years old, and is currently enrolled in the baby room at Yongling Kindergarten. Her father is employed as a teacher at Lower TCV, while her mother runs a small business on the street. In order to care for their elderly grandparents, Tenzin’s mother decided to leave her job.
Name: Tenzin Yangtso
Tenzin is currently enrolled in grade I at Yongling School. Her parents, both originally from Tibet, have distinct occupations: her mother works as a childcare provider at Yongling School, while her father is currently unemployed. Thus, Tenzin’s mother is the sole breadwinner in the family.
