Shalu Monastery was established at the Tibetan Cholsum Settlement in Bhuppur, Poanta Sahib, India in March 2005. Its primary aim is to revive, safeguard, and uphold the Bhulug Lineage tradition while spreading the teachings of Buddha and fulfilling essential service duties to the Tibetan and broader Buddhist communities. Since its establishment, the monastery has not only enriched its traditional culture and academic programs but has also been dedicated to serving institutions, organizations, communities, and individuals. Presently, the monastery is home to 56 resident monks.

His parents work as laborers in construction, and his mother works in their small field. Losel excels in studying and learning, and he also enjoys playing football.

Both of his parents are farmers, and their primary source of income comes from agricultural land. Losel is diligent and excels in his studies. He enjoys playing games, with football being his favorite.

Pema hails from Tsum Valley in Nepal. He is a semi-orphan, having lost his mother at the age of 7, leaving behind his father and an elder brother. Due to their family’s poor financial condition, Pema was enrolled in the monastery. He is currently learning Buddhist texts, English, and other subjects.

Rinchen hails from Balijuri, Assam, and comes from a humble background in the village. He is a semi-orphan, having lost his father to an illness a few years ago.
