Ladakh Nuns Association (LNA) was established in 1996, to train its nuns as dharma teachers, social activists, and Tibetan medicine practitioners. LNA provides multifaceted training in monastic and secular education, fostering self-sufficiency and life skills. Proficiency in Tibetan medicine is prioritized to ensure nuns can manage their health and support others. Currently, LNA oversees 60 nuns, with 38 residing at the nunnery and others pursuing studies across India.

Stanzin Etok hails from Shara Village, near Leh city, Ladakh. Born to farmer parents, she is the youngest of three siblings. She joined LNA in May 2021. Currently, she is studying in a kindergarten of the government primary school near the nunnery.
