MICROENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
Our microenterprise programs empower vulnerable Tibetan women and families to build sustainable livelihoods through small grants, training, and personalized mentoring. We support entrepreneurs across India and Nepal, from nomad textile weavers and artisans to small restaurant owners and home-based producers, helping them strengthen their skills, improve product quality, and reach new markets.
In India, the Tibetan Women Microentrepreneurship Project equips women, especially single mothers, with practical support in market research, business planning, product registration, and branding. Women gain confidence, new skills, and greater control over their income.
In Nepal, a community-managed revolving fund enables microentrepreneurs to access low-interest loans, manage their own savings and repayments, and build financial literacy. This successful model has now been expanded to Ladakh, where more Tibetan families are gaining access to capital and business training. Through partnerships with local organizations in Kathmandu, vulnerable Tibetans also receive seed funding, mentoring, and support to launch new enterprises.
