We believe cultural resilience depends on the ability of Tibetan artists to create contemporary forms of expression that are rooted in Tibetan identity and resonate with each new generation. We make small grants to fund the projects of contemporary Tibetan writers, filmmakers, painters, and performers, and support exhibitions to promote contemporary arts and secular culture among Tibetan youth.

We also support local NGOs that promote contemporary Tibetan artists. With our support Drung provides mentorship to emerging young Tibetan filmmakers, and is producing a collaborative anthology of short films exploring statelessness and migration in the exile community. TibetWrites promotes contemporary writers, and Tibet Theatre produces original community theater centered around themes of youth empowerment, cultural continuity, and Tibetan identity.
