The Tibetan Arts and Culture Fund makes small grants to Tibetan artists, artisans, researchers, and cultural organizations pursuing individual projects. Administered in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration, this fund has supported more than 140 projects since its inception. Click here to read about TACF beneficiaries

To sustain Tibet’s rich artistic traditions we work with the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts and Norbulingka Institute. Young performing artists receive five-year pre-service training at TIPA, preparing them to perform hundreds of songs and dances and the age-old tradition of Tibetan opera known as Ache Lhamo. Master artisans at Norbulingka teach apprentice trainees to produce traditional thangka paintings, statues, appliqué art, traditional clothing, metal work, and furniture.

We have also worked with the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives and the Dalai Lama Library and Archive to digitize and preserve rare texts and archive digital copies of the Dalai Lama’s teachings, talks, discussions, books, letters, and monographs.
